‘The Nutcracker’ collects almost a ton of pet food

Keira Leffew and Nicolas Underwood, both cast members of Roane County’s “The Nutcraker 2010,” donated more than 200 pounds each of pet food during the production’s annual food collections for the Roane County Animal Shelter. Their contributions are among those made by the cast and public that generated more than 1,800 pounds of cat and dog food and supplies for the shelter. An additional $750 was also raised. Arts in Motion, the dance studio in charge of the annual production, sponsored the pet food drive.
