For the first time since 2007, the Oliver Springs Bobcats soccer program has picked up back-to-back wins in the regular season after defeating the Harriman Blue Devils 3-1.

"Huge game for us," an elated Bobcat head coach Jonathan Pryor said postgame. "It was great to start off with district wins Tuesday against Oneida and tonight against Harriman."

The game started at a scoreless deadlock for the first 33 minutes until Shawn Childress broke that drought for the 'Cats with a goal assisted by Howie Lineberger, for the lone goal of the first half.

Oliver Springs struck again in the second half with a 30-yard booming goal from Steven Westphal assisted by Mike Goldblatt at the 52-minute mark. Brandon McElroy got in on the fun for the 'Cats 68 minutes in and proceeded to celebrate with a comical celebration to make the score 3-0.

Harriman got on the board late in the contest at the 71-minute mark on a Gage Gilmore penalty kick to make the eventual final score 3-1.

The 'Cats had a decisive 28-2 shots on goal advantage, Childress, Westphal, and McElroy all scored for the 'Cats while Lineberger and Goldblatt picked up the assists.

Harriman's lone goal came from Gilmore and Andrew Chesser (16 saves) had a solid showing in defeat for the Devils.
