According to a resolution on Roane County Commission’s tentative agenda, a major industry is finalizing plans to construct a distribution facility in the Roane Regional Business and Technology Park.

Roane County Executive Ron Woody, who submitted the resolution, would not disclose the identity of the industry.

The county commission meets today – Monday – at the Roane County Courthouse in Kingston at 7 p.m.

The resolution is to apply for an industrial access road grant to service the unnamed industry.

If approved, the county would enter into a contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for assistance in construction of the access road.

“The construction of an industrial access road to serve said proposed plant is necessary and vital to the successful completion of this project and the future economic well-being of this area,” the resolution

Roane Regional Business and Technology Park is in the eastern section of the county off Interstate 40.

The industrial park is currently home to businesses such as Best Roofs, Blue Bell Creameries and H.T. Hackney Co.
