A Knoxville man who reportedly led Rockwood police on a chase on Dec. 21 is facing several charges.

Taylor Lee Helton, of 1651 Chenoweth Road, Knoxville, was charged with evading arrest, DUI, reckless endangerment, driving on a revoked license, aggravated assault on a police officer and inhaling aerosol.

Rockwood Police Chief Bill Stinnett said the officers involved in the pursuit were OK.

Rockwood police said they had to use a TASER to get a 24-year-old man to comply with commands on Dec. 19.

The report said Justin Charles Solock was told multiple times to keep his hands out of his pocket.

“He refused and physically tensed up and tried to keep his hand in his pocket, and continued to ignore commands to show his hands,” the report said.

Solock became compliant, the report said, after an officer tasered him in the back.

“In Mr. Solock’s pocket was a needle, which is commonly used to inject illegal drugs,” the report said.

The report listed Solock’s address as 147 Miller Lane, Rockwood.

He was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
