A recent front page article by Dwane Wilder caught my interest.
But, in reading more closely, I realized that the “Rare exhibit treat for art lovers” (title of article published in the Wednesday-Thursday Sept. 12-13 Roane County News) had already opened for display and closed, even before this article was published.
I was disappointed not to be able to view the work of African American artist Harold Winslow myself.
I hope that future arts and culture articles featuring events or exhibits such as this one displayed at Roane State Community College might be printed before their openings, so that readers who are interested can actually go and enjoy the work themselves.

Editor’s note: News of the exhibit came as a bit of a squeeze for us, too. We received a news release on the weekday-only art exhibit from Roane State Commuity College on Thursday, Sept. 6, and sent a photojournalist on Monday, Sept. 10.
The good news is anyone wanting to see the exhibit (admission is free) can go to nearby Pellissippi State Community College’s Hardin Valley campus, where it will be on display through Oct. 3.
