The Arts Council of Roane County’s inaugural event, the Roane Open Art Show, is a three-day exhibition of area artists’ work.
The public exhibit in Creative Arts Co-op at 426 Ruritan Road, Harriman, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1-2.
Area artists, including painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, printmakers and potters, are invited to submit up to three original works for display.
Artworks may be offered for sale through private transactions between the artist and customer.
Entries will be accepted in Creative Arts Co-op from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29-30.
The event kicks off with a grand opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30.
The public is welcome to meet some of the featured artists and have light refreshments during this unique opportunity to discover some of the extraordinary talent Roane County has to offer.
Admission is free to the public.
To help cover the costs of insurance for the event, artists submitting their work for display will be charged a single $10 entry fee regardless of how many pieces they submit.
The Arts Council of Roane County is a non-profit organization established in 2012 and operating under the auspices of the Kingston Library Foundation.
Its mission is to enrich the cultural lives of Roane County residents through programs and partnerships that celebrate artistic excellence, cultivate artistic opportunities, and promote educational activities.
The council plans to serve and support the diverse artistic organizations, individuals, and venues within Roane County and in doing so, support businesses and help invigorate communities.
