Break needed after suicide at rival’s

By Damon Lawrence

The Roane County Tea Party has postponed Thursday night’s forum for the property assessor candidates.
Tea Party media director Chuck Smith said the move was done at the request of incumbent property assessor Teresa Kirkham and out of respect for J.T. Woods.
Last week Woods committed suicide outside of Kirkham’s home.
“We just felt like some of the candidates wanted to suspend until after this week and the funeral and so on of Mr. Woods,” Smith said. “We’re going to respect that and just try to reschedule.”
