August in Tennessee means that high school football is just around the corner. With three weeks left until the season opener for many teams in the area, the early days of August are the time for scrimmages to fine-tune the teams for a 10-game regular season grind.
Friday night, the Harriman Blue Devils held their first scrimmage against the Austin-East Roadrunners, holding their own for the whole game with neither team scoring a varsity touchdown. Harriman’s Moneer Al-Hussein did record a safety late in the contest.
