Another Roane County grand jury session has come and gone, and still no one has been charged in the 2012 shooting death of Russel Charles Blevins.
Sheriff Jack Stockton said the case remains under investigation.
“We’ve definitely not forgotten about it,” he said.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, family members found Blevins, 85, dead of multiple gunshot wounds in his home at 138 Hart Orchard Road, Kingston, on Aug. 12, 2012.
Firearms, including a M-1 30 caliber Carbine rifle, was reported missing from the residence.
Stockton said sheriff’s office detective Greg Scalf is leading the investigation.
“I know that he’s worked everything that has come in on it,” Stockton said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 865-376-5582 or the TBI at 1-800-824-3463.
Blevins’ family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
