Aytes marries school system employee

Roane County Director of Schools Gary Aytes married former Midtown Elementary School principal Glenna Treece last month.
Treece stepped down as Midtown principal after the 2011-12 school year.
Aytes said she works part-time in the central office as a parent involvement coordinator.
The marriage doesn’t create a conflict, Aytes said, because he’s not his wife’s direct supervisor.
“She works under Mr. (Russell) Jenkins and Mr. (Keevin) Woody,” he said.
Aytes was given well-wishes on his recent marriage at last month’s Board of Education meeting. 
“Congratulations Mr. Aytes, I see that ring of gold now,” Board Chairman Rob Jago said.
