Maxwell House Coffee had a slogan years ago about being "good to the last drop." Thursday’s game between the Oliver Springs Middle School Lady Bobcats and Rockwood Lady Tigers was good to the last shot as Alivia Baker hit a three-point shot with impeccable timing that allowed the purple-clad Lady 'Cats to squeeze out a 30-27 win.

Rockwood took the early 5-3 lead at the end of the opening period and maintained a two-point lead to the locker room with a 13-11 advantage at halftime.

In the third period, that tenuous lead was doubled to four points with a 23-19 advantage.

But the final period left Rockwood in a "purple haze" with an 11-4 surge by Oliver Springs to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat by a 30-27 margin.

Alyssa Suttles (15 points, 7 boards, 6 steals) led the way for Oliver Springs with Alivia Baker (5 points, 6 boards), and Sarah Channell (5 points) also playing well.

Rockwood was led in defeat by Lexie Hill (9 points, 10 boards) and Megan Monday (6 points).

Zoie Hill (6 boards) also fared well in the loss for Rockwood.

Oliver Springs (30) Suttles 15, Baker 5, Channell 5, Armstrong 2, Jones 2, Bradshaw 1.
