Several hands-on arts opportunities are available in the next few weeks through Bethel Arts Ministry.

The ministry, a program of Kingston’s Bethel Presbyterian Church, offers classes for all ages.

All classes will be in the church at 203 S. Kentucky St. Call 376-6340 to register or for details.

Micki Anderson, a state-certified art educator with 15 years of teaching experience, will continue children’s arts classes March 9-April 20.

The classes, for ages 8 and older, include instruction in polymer clay and
the basics of copper enameling.

The classes will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on six consecutive Wednesdays. A snack is included.

Cost is $5 per session; scholarships are available.

Anderson will also teach a beginning stained-glass class for adults. The five-week class will be from 4 to 6 p.m. each Monday from April 4-May 2.

The $50 course cost includes all glass, supplies and use of tools.

Students will be taught the basics of glass cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and framing an approximate 8-by-10-inch stained glass piece.

Digital photography enthusiasts are encouraged to join a special group committed to instruction and interest beginning March 12.

The Saturday sessions will begin at 10 a.m.

Alf Rybka, who photographs many of Bethel’s events, will lead the group in instruction on digital cameras.

Class members will also share experience and photos and plan outings and areas of interest.

Participants are asked to bring their camera to each session.
