Still reeling after the death of a city councilman last week, Rockwood has lost another city official this week.
Beverly Stroh, who was economic development coordinator for the city, died early Wednesday of a stroke, according to City Coordinator Jim Hines.
Stroh had been on a waiting list for a kidney transplant and ocassionally had to have dialysis, but Hines said her death was unexpected. She had looked healthy and energetic at Rockwood's Thunder Road festival a couple of weeks ago.
"It's a real blow," Hines said. He said Stroh was good to work with and had a lively sense of humor.
Stroh also had worked for The Roane Alliance as tourism director and had retired from the military before that.
Last week, City Councilman Gene East died. East had been ill, but seemed to be making a recovery.
