Bowers food drive success due to donors

-A A +A

Every year, the staff and students at Bowers Elementary School sponsors a Thanksgiving food drive designed to provide our school families with much-needed food items for holiday meals.

This year was a huge success as we provided baskets to over 90 families.

These baskets included turkey, rolls, potatoes and many other canned food items.

For many families in our community, holidays are very stressful times.

We are confident that our food drive made Thanksgiving a holiday to remember.

We are very thankful for our food drive partners who helped us in so many ways.

These organizations were willing to provide us with the resources necessary for our project to be successful. They are: Childs Memorial Baptist Church; First Bank of Tennessee; Goldston’s Gulf; Williams Chapel AME Zion Church; Chase Drug Store; TVA Credit Union; Enrichment Federal Credit Union;  Big Emory Baptist Church; Harriman Utility Board; Harriman      Lighthouse Pentecostal Church; Food City, Harriman; Animal Medical Center; Animal Medical Center Kingston; Harriman Middle School; Harriman High School; Kroger, Harriman; George Brown, State Farm; Rocky Top General Store and Roane Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Our annual food drive enables us to give back to our community in a meaningful manner. In addition, we are able to teach our students valuable lessons about the joy of giving to others.

Again, thank you for your willingness to help us. Thank you for loving the children in our community.
