Boy Scouts partner with Goodwill for ‘Good Turn’

-A A +A

Area Boy Scout troops are doing a “Good Turn” by collecting items for a material drive through Feb. 9.

Scouts are collecting items, such as gently used clothing or toys, from family, friends and neighbors to be donated to area Goodwill stores.

The scouts will earn a “Good Turn” patch for participating in this drive.

The Good Turn initiative is a national call to service by the Boy Scouts.

The Scouts, along with Goodwill, are tackling the issue of unemployment. All proceeds from donated items will directly benefit the mission of Goodwill Industries-Knoxville Inc. by providing vocational services and employment opportunities for people with a barrier to employment, such as lack of transportation or a disability.

For more information about this material drive, call the Goodwill Marketing Department at 588-8567 or visit www.gwiktn.org.
