A poor second quarter cost the Kingston Yellow Jackets dearly Monday night in a 47-30 loss against Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) in the consolation game of the District 4-AA Tournament at Roane County High School.
Kingston scored first on a basket from Jordan Huddleston, but that would be the Jackets only lead of the next as the Warriors went on to a 9-6 lead after eight minutes of play.
The second period was a rough one for Kingston as CAK won the frame 17-4 to take a 26-10 lead at halftime.
Kingston battled the Warriors to pretty much a draw in the second period, but that wasn’t enough for a comeback. CAK won the third period, 8-7, before both teams scored 13 points in the final frame to make the final score 47-30.
Huddleston led Kingston on the night with 14 points.
Kingston now advances to the Region 2-AA Tournament where they will travel to District 3-AA champion Austin-East Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Kingston (30) Gasque 6, Huddleston 14, Griffis 2, Sampson 1, Golliher 7.
