For 25 minutes, the Kingston Lady Jackets withstood everything the Christian Academy Of Knoxville Lady Warriors were kicking at them, but eventually, the old saying "Speed Kills" never rang truer than it did Monday night, falling in defeat to a lightning-fast CAK squad by a 5-0 tally.
The game was a scoreless deadlock for the first 25-minutes until the Lady Warriors' Chelsea Cates scored off of an assist by Laura Foster to make the score 1-0. Two minutes later, CAK expanded the lead to 2-0 on a Laura Foster goal with a Kayce Campbell assist.
At the 31-minute mark, the Lady Warriors took a 3-0 lead when Paige Hoffman scored thanks to a Laura Foster assist, to get the final score of the half.
At the 45-minute mark in the game, Kayce Campbell scored another CAK goal on a corner kick to push the lead to 4-0. And the proverbial salt in the open wound was inflicted by CAK at the 70-minute mark when Foster scored on a Hoffman assist to make the final score 5-0.
CAK was led in scoring by Foster (2 goals, 2 assists), Kayce Campbell (1 goal, 1 assist), Paige Hoffman (1 goal, 1 assist), and Chelsea Cates (1 goal).
The shots on goal told the whole story as CAK had a mind-boggling 54 shots on goal compared to six for the Lady Jackets.
Michaela Grubb (32 saves) led the Lady Jackets in defeat.
