Carolyn Elaine King, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2012.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, friend and neighbor.
Gone before her were several relatives, including her father, Clarence Hall; her mother, Beatrice Hall; and a beloved son-in-law, George Smith.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Rayford S. King; a sister, Rachel Yoder and husband David; a sister, Jean Loyd and husband Chuck; a brother, Lamar Hall and wife Fran; a daughter, Miriam Kelmers and husband Ben; a daughter, Valerie Murphy and husband Mike; a daughter, Kim Smith; a son, Dr. Matt King and wife Terra and their children Macy, D.J. and Samantha; the following grown grandchildren and their families, Ben Jones and wife Jessica and children Haley, Alyssa, Kayla and Mallorie; Donnie Jones and son Everett; Robby Jones and Courtney Demaree and sons Jupiter, Kyler and Lincoln; Erica and Todd Fink and children Braden, Lainey, and Will; George “Jo” Smith and fiancée Amanda Godsey; Ryan King; Emily Beaumia and husband Nate and children Irelyn and Blazer; and Jennifer Murphy. In addition, she leaves many nieces, nephews and other family members, as well as special neighbors and friends.
She especially loved children and was at her happiest when surrounded by them. She will be missed by many. Family members said, “We are sad to see her go but know that she is in God's hands now.”
Funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. David Harmon officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Piney Cemetery in Oakdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association Tennessee Affiliate, 4205 Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston.
