A move to revise the school system’s cell phone policy failed on first reading at last Thursday’s Roane County Board of Education meeting.
Even though there was more support to revise the policy than there was against, the motion still failed due to the lack of a majority.
Six of the 10 board members needed to be in favor of the motion for it to carry, board chairman Earl Nall said.
