The annual Roane County Chamber of Commerce banquet, now in its 66th year and considered by many the spring social event for Chamber members, will be on April 20 in Whitestone Country Inn, Kingston.

The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with a wine reception and silent auction, followed by a four-course gourmét meal.

That will be followed by the presentation of this year’s prestigious business awards: the Athena Award, Business of the Year, Distinguished Service Award and the Paul Goldberg Young Professional Award.

“This is the premier Chamber event of the year,” said Chamber board Chairwoman Danice Turpin.

“There’s good food and wine, an exciting silent auction and some really great company — and all this in one of the loveliest settings around.”

The event’s sponsor this year is PermaFix Environmental Services.

“This event celebrates our local businesses and is one event that nearly always sells out, so get your tickets early,” Turpin said.

Seating for the banquet is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis with RSVP requested by April 10.

Tickets are $100; tables of eight can be reserved.

The Chamber banquet is also the perfect opportunity for those looking to promote their business. Those who want to donate to the silent auction are asked to call or deliver the items soon; the deadline for donations is April 11.

Items may be dropped off at the Chamber office at 1209 N. Kentucky St., Kingston.

The Roane Chamber of Commerce includes an estimated 400 members. New memberships are welcomed.
