Charles Edward Taylor, 90, of Kelso, Washington passed away on October 22, 2007 at the Community Home Health and Hospice. He was born to Richard and Cynthia Pearl Armes Taylor in Blue Diamond, Ky on July 3, 1917. He was raised in Petros and lived in Kelso for the last 49 years.
Mr. Taylor served in the Army from September 1940 to 1946. He was stationed in Iceland and Germany during WWII. He crossed France with Patton and was a member of the 5th Infantry Division.
He was a member of Kelso First Assembly of God in Kelso for the last 51 years. Mr. Taylor spent his time serving his Lord, family and friends. He was affectionately known as the "Mole Man".
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Feigner Taylor; twin sons, Charles Edward and Edward Charles of Iceland; daughters, Chip and Debbie Jo Bradley of Athens, Ala., John and Cindy Pearl Glenn of Winlock, Wash., Rick and Becky Ann Hood of Lebanon, Ore. and Andy and Kathi Enser of Kelso, Wash.; extended family, Joel Steward of Longview, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Kelso First Assembly of God in Kelso. Officiating the service was Rev. Thomas Ming and Nick Buehler.
Memorial contributions can be made to Community Home Health and Hospice of Cowlitz County.
Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
