Cherokee splits with Rockwood

The Cherokee Yellow Jackets and Rockwood Tigers met for the first time this season last week and both schools came away with a win.

Rockwood’s victory came in the girls game as the Lady Tigers held off Cherokee, 33-30.

The boys game wasn’t as close as Cherokee downed the Tigers, 38-22.

Rockwood will play again Tuesday when they host Harriman. Cherokee is off this week.

Tuesday’s game was one of those that could have went either way, but in the end it was the Lady Tigers coming away with the three-point victory.
