Churches gear up for Christmas basket programs

Kingston area churches have started the annual process  to make sure Roane County families in need have a merrier Christmas.

Kingston United Methodist Church started taking applications earlier this week for its Christmas basket program.

Kingston First Baptist Church will start its application process next week for families seeking assistance from the church’s Chrstmas food basket and angel tree programs.

Both programs ask applicants to bring some form of identification and proof of residency, such as a current utility bill.
