Clifford Lowe, 85, of Coalfield, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Life Care Center of Morgan County. He was a Christian and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II who who served on the destroyer Escort DE 634 USS Whitehurst. He later retired from Rust Engineering, Oak Ridge. Upon retirement, he enjoyed farming and all Coalfield sports.

He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 63 years, Juanita Emory Lowe; parents, Hoyal and Anna Lowe; and sister, Dorothy Lowe.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, George and Virgie Lowe and Doug Lowe, all of Coalfield; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Cleo Norman of Knoxville; grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Jessica Lowe, Andrew and Jody Lowe, David Lowe, Amber Lowe and Maury Lowe; great-grandchildren, Jericho Lowe, Gabriel Lowe, Jasamine Monroe, Carter McKinley Lowe and Jonah Hamren; and brother, Tensley Lowe of Coalfield.

Graveside service and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Lowe Family Cemetery, Coalfield, with the Rev. Don Hubbard officiating. Jackson-Oliver Mortuary, Oliver Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
