Those anxiously awaiting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s final ruling on coal ash regulations will have to endure a little while longer.
The agency said it is unlikely the rule will be released in 2011.
“The target date for release of a final rule will be determined, pending a full evaluation of all the information and comments EPA received on the proposal,” EPA officials stated in an email. “As we have said before publicly, the rule will likely not be published this year. Beyond that, no date has been set.”
