Coalfield’s Logan Alley was voted the 2008 District 4-A Player of the Year by the six league coaches in a meeting last Wednesday in Wartburg.

“Logan (Alley) has been a leader for us this year and has had a monster senior season. I look for him to help us do well in the tournaments,” said Coalfield skipper Jason Wilson.

Alley finished the regular season with a .500 average (38-76) to go along with a home run, 10 doubles and 30 runs batted in. Regarded as one of the top defensive catchers in the area, Alley has been the team leader in helping the Jackets capture the 2008 District 4-A regular Season Title.

Coalfield’s Wilson was a unanimous pick as Coach of the Year after leading his team to a perfect 10-0 district record.
