Roane County’s unemployment rate increased marginally in April to 7.5 percent.
That’s a difference of 0.3 percent, according to statistics released late last month by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The state reports 25,920 workers in the county’s 28,010 labor force were employed in May.
In May 2011, the county recorded a jobless rate at 8 percent, 0.5 percent higher than the most recent figures.
