County to restructure debt

When county commissioners meet on Aug. 11, one of the decisions they will have to make will be how to restructure the county’s debt.

Scott Gibson, with the county’s financial advisory group, spoke to members of the budget committee about the impact the poor economic housing market has had on the county’s bonded indebtedness.

Gibson explained that providers for the county’s municipal bonds have fallen below an AAA rating.
