Dean Perry, a 53-year-old Rockwood man, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend on Aug. 19.

According to the incident report, Perry was upset because she didn’t want to watch the NASCAR race.

“I spoke to Dawn Janow and she stated that Dean Perry, her boyfriend, had came home wanting to watch NASCAR on the television and that he had been drinking,” Rockwood Police Officer Randy Heidle wrote in the report.

“She did not want to watch NASCAR and Mr. Perry became angry making threats to her and then began to pin her down on her chair by holding her neck and arm.”

The report said Janow punched Perry in the chest to get him off her.

“Once he was off she called the police and Mr. Perry fled the residence before the police arrived,” the report said.
Perry was arrested at the residence the next day. He’s scheduled to appear in Roane County General Sessions Court on the domestic assault charge on Oct. 17.

Roane County Jail records listed Perry’s address as 717 E. Wheeler St. That’s where the alleged assault occurred.
