Courts rule against TVA on immunity in ash disaster

A tremendous victory. That's how an attorney for plaintiffs suing TVA described a federal judge's decision to deny TVA's motion to toss out ash spill lawsuits based on governmental immunity.

“Although we expect TVA will appeal, the Court's opinion was very sound and we expect that we will be victorious there, too,” Lieff, Cabraser, Heimann & Bernstein attorney Elizabeth A. Alexander said in an e-mail.
