Covenant issues hospital particulars

Harriman officials finally have a proposed contract for Roane Medical Center to change hands from city to Covenant Health control.

One thing Covenant makes clear in the document is that early talk of building a new hospital in Midtown in three years was overzealous.

The Knoxville-based healthcare system says any new construction would likely be more than five years out to allow officials to assess the needs of the community.
