Creda Belle Russell Wilkinson was brought into this world on Aug. 22, 1936, at home by her Grandmother Mallicoate on Rockwood Mountain. She went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 30, 2012.
She was the proud mother of four daughters, whom she loved very much. She was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a nurse to many injured veterans during her military career. She had worked at various hospitals, including Rockwood as a nursing director, Harriman Hospital, where she worked numerous positions including supervisor and surgical nurse, retiring from Parkwest hospital. She was a God-fearing woman and is now at home with her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Creed and Helen Russell; her grandparents, Robert and Allie Russell; and a brother, James “Jim” Russell.
Survivors include four daughters, Katrina and Ronald Ivey, Kingston, Jennifer Scribner, Kingston, Rebecca and Billy Schaefer, Kingston, and Linda Frost, Kingston; eight grandchildren Dustin Ray Ivey, Mariah Mary Scribner, Jonus A. Frost, Jared A. Frost, Joseph A. Frost, Samantha Marie Schaefer, Reves Schaefer and Emilee Jane Schaefer; great-granddaughter, Breanne Alexandria Frost and her mother Jennifer Fox; a sister, Jean Lewis and husband Mel, Lewiston, Idaho; special friends, John K. Wilkinson, Joyce Crawford, Frank Burgess and Faye; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, in Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, with funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. George Maddox and the Rev. Randy Griffis officiating. Family and friends met at Fraker Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, to go in procession to Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood for graveside service at 2 p.m.
