Parents of a 14-month- old who drowned while bathing with his sibling have been indicted by a Roane County grand jury for criminally negligent homicide.
Jackson Dean Gregory died on Nov. 11 in East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Knoxville.
District Attorney Russell Johnson said both Jami and Crystal Reagan Gregory of Harriman left their children alone during bathtime, which led to the child’s death.
“She put the 1-year-old in the bathtub with the 2-year-old,” Johnson said.
Both parents were in another part of the house while the children were in an upstairs bathtub, Johnson said.
The mother discovered what had happened to the younger child when checking on the children, Johnson added.
