Crowe to speak at Little Leaf’s scholarship event

Charles D. Crowe, co-founder of The Men of Tomorrow program, will be the guest speaker for the annual Ed Fritz scholarship program at Little Leaf Baptist Church, Oliver Springs.

The program starts at 4 p.m. June 9.

Crowe, CEO of LeGacy Resource Consulting Corp., helped found the Men of Tomorrow mentoring program in 1990.

The program promotes development of a good self image, positive role model, academic achievement, career development and cultural development among youth.

It has awarded scholarships to deserving young men and women since its inception.

Crowe retired in 2006 after a 30-year career in federal service. He served as director of the procurement and Contracts Division for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Little Leaf Baptist Church established the scholarship program in memory of their pastor, the Rev. Edgar Fritz, who passed away in August 1978.

The church has provided more than 50 scholarships to students in the Little Leaf Baptist Church family.
