Julia H. Daniel will be the guest speaker during the Oliver Springs Historical Society monthly meeting on March 4.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Oliver Springs Historial Depot at 610 Walker Ave.
Daniel will discuss The Mayme Carmichael School Organization Inc., a nonprofit group.
She will also speak briefly on Carmichael Park and the Oliver Springs Colored School.
Daniel will share some success stories, such as Samuel Harper — formerly Hopper — a Tuskegee airman, and Dr. Larry Boulware in the magazine article, “The Will To Succeed.”
She also will share how Cedine Minsitries in Spring City played a part in the one-room schoolhouse.
Daniel is a member of the Oliver Springs Historical Society board of directors.
She said she looks forward to this year as the society celebrates its 30th anniversary.
She also reminds the public to “save the date” Oct. 19 for the annual October Sky Heritage Festival at the Depot.
Daniel will serve as festival coordinator. She encourages all churches to be part of the festival and share their church history.
