of the American Revolution Good Citizen for Clinch Bend Chapter, NSDAR.

Cannon was selected for the honor by the school’s faculty and students.

He will receive a certificate and pin from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

The DAR Good Citizen is nationally recognized by colleges and employers as an indication of potential for future success.

Only one DAR Good Citizen is selected per high school each year.

The honoree must be a graduating senior and have the following qualities:

• Dependability, including truthfulness, loyalty and punctuality.

• Service, including cooperation, courtesy and consideration of others.

• Leadership, including personality, self-control and ability to assume responsibility.

• Patriotism, including unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation to an outstanding degree.

“No matter the job or role I am assigned to play, I carry it out to the best of my abilities, showing my skills in leadership and original ideas to benefit the community, Cannon said.

“Whether it be school, church or just a friendly local, I never turn away
a person in need,” he added.

The Clinch Bend Chapter’s next meeting will begin at 10 a.m. March 5 in St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Oak Ridge.
