DAR funds history scholarship

The Avery Trace Chapter, NSDAR Scholarship Committee, on behalf of the chapter is funding a book scholarship for a Roane State Community College student majoring in history.

On hand for the $400 scholarship fund presentation are, from left, Honorary Regent Jane McPherson, First Vice Regent Rosemary Alexander, Roane State Foundation Chairwoman Linda Brown, Avery Trace Regent Brenda Hall McDonald and Honorary Regent Joyce Tidwell.

Brown accepted the check on behalf of the Foundation. This is the second consecutive year the chapter has been able to fund the scholarship.
