A committee charged by East Tennessee State University President Paul E. Stanton Jr. with investigating the need for and potential viability of a dental school at ETSU has recommended the university hire a professional consulting firm as it moves forward in the exploratory process.
The committee, which includes area dentists as well as faculty and leaders from the ETSU Division of Health Sciences, met over the course of six months to explore the need for a school and to gauge interest among prospective dental school students from the region, as well as area dentists.
