Deputies deal with suicide attempt

Officers are trained to resolve some of the most tense situations without the use of deadly force. That may have saved a local woman’s life earlier this month.

Officers with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Frances Lane residence on March 5 to investigate a report of a woman threatening to harm herself and officers if they showed up.
