Deputy’s efforts help motorist in sinking car

Roane County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Smith helped a man escape an “almost” submerged vehicle Sunday morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, Kingston and county officers responded to a 911 call about a man driving his car into the lake.
While checking the old lake access at the end of Ferguson Lane, Smith observed a car about 60 feet out in the water.
