Oliver Springs Elementary School student Devyn Hayes is congratulated by Andrew Fenton of Duke University’s Talent Identification Program during the program’s 2010 Tennessee Recognition Ceremony at Vanderbilt University, Nashville. The ceremony honored students who scored in the 95th percentile or higher on a grade-level achievement test. As part of the program, the students take above-level college entrance exams to learn more about their abilities. Hayes, an eighth-grader at Oliver Springs, received awards from Fenton and Douglas L. Christiansen, vice provost for enrollment and dean of admissions at Vanderbilt University. She is the daughter of Tim and Marcia Hayes of Harriman.
