The Michael Dunn Foundation hosted a November reception to honor the newest members of the Michael Dunn Foundation Legacy Society.

The Legacy Society was established to recognize and thank individual donors who have made the most significant contributions in the history of the organization.

Established in 2011, the Legacy Society represents approximately $750,000 in individual, lifetime contributions made to the Michael Dunn Foundation.

The newest members honored at the Legacy Society reception were the Blanchard family and the Seivers family.

Ron and Vicki Blanchard have chaired the Michael Dunn Foundation Golf Classic for 15 years.

They have both served on the Michael Dunn Center board of directors and have been strong advocates for all people with disabilities.

Ron Blanchard is a retired engineer and administrator from BWXT Y-12 in Oak Ridge. Vicki Blanchard is retired from ORNL Credit Union.

Lana Seivers has been an incredibly effective advocate for the programs of Michael Dunn Center.

She and her family, James “Jiggs” and Frankie Seivers, Larry and Sally Seivers, and Charles “Bones” and Bettye Seivers, have contributed in countless ways to support the employees of Michael Dunn Center as they work to care for and empower people living with disabilities.

Seivers is dean of the College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a former Tennessee Commissioner of Education.

The Michael Dunn Center board of directors, the Michael Dunn Center management team and past Legacy Society inductees celebrated the unveiling of the newest stars to the Legacy Society Wall.

Both families noted that volunteering, serving, and advocating for people with intellectual disabilities has been a lifelong passion.

The mission of Michael Dunn Center is to empower individuals living with disabilities and challenges to gain independence.

The Michael Dunn Foundation supports Michael Dunn Center’s mission by raising funds and managing assets used by Michael Dunn Center to provide services.
