A group of Dyllis community members wants to see a community use for the old Dyllis Elementary School.
A petition signing to stop the sale of the now-closed school is going around. The signing is scheduled to be held at the school at 5 p.m. Saturday.
“There is a bunch of us that believe the school would serve the community better as a community center. We’d hate to see it sold and mowed down and put houses on it. That wouldn’t benefit anybody,” said Robert Kennedy, who lives in the neighborhood.
