Early Voting for the August General Election and the Democratic and Republican primaries will continue until Saturday, Aug. 2.
Just for Early Voting, the Election Commission office will be open a half-day on Saturday, according to Administrator of Elections Minnie Armes.
The county’s only Early Voting site will be in the Election Commission Office located on the first floor of the Morgan County Courthouse.
Any registered voter wishing to take advantage of Early Voting may stop by the Election Commission Office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. or on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.
If you don’t wish to vote early, you may still cast your ballot on Election Day which will be Thursday, Aug. 7.
Morgan County News will not publish the results until Wednesday, Aug. 13 but local election results will be posted on our shared Web site at roanecounty.com.
Races on the ballot will include:
Assessor of Property — Biff Wilson, unopposed
County Clerk — Carol Hamby and Sheila Wilson
County Attorney — Andrew Hall, unopposed as a write-in
School Board, second district — Terry Armes and Jerry Reynolds; fourth district, Glen Moore, unopposed; sixth district, Wendy Collins and Sally Randi Armes.
The State Primary will include the senate race with neither Becky Ruppe nor Ken Yager opposed and state representative with John Mark Windle challenged by fellow Democrat Glenn Stockton.
