Members of the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce are anxious to host activities that will bring more visitors to the county and provide activities for local residents.

With that in mind Chamber Director Gigi Schooler has planned the Chamber's first breakfast with the Easter Bunny for Saturday, March 22. The breakfast will be held at the courthouse from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The cost for the breakfast is $5 or $6 if you wish to include a photo with the Easter bunny. Reservations must be made for the breakfast by calling Schooler at 346-5740.

At 1 p.m. an Easter Parade is planned for Main Street in Wartburg. The parade will line up at Citizens First Bank and end at the courthouse. Entry forms may be picked up at the Chamber office in room 101 at the Courthouse.

The parade is not being organized by the Chamber but by a group of citizens who wanted to do something special to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Churches are especially encouraged to participate with floats appropriate to this holy season.

When the parade concludes at 2 p.m. an Easter egg hunt will be held on the courthouse lawn for children ages 2-10. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups.

Schooler said that part of her job as Chamber director is to promote events and activities that will draw visitors to Morgan County and that she hopes turnout will be good in support of these

Easter activities.

Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to pay for a Youth Leadership Class that will be held in spring 2009.

Participants will be chosen from applicants from each of the county's four high schools.

"We are asking our businesses to donate items for the breakfast such as bacon, sausage links, eggs, biscuits and orange juice as well as prizes for the egg hunt or a monetary gift to purchase these items," Schooler added.

Anyone with questions may call the chamber at 346-5740.
