A pavilion at Riverfront Park for the Harriman Farmer’s Market producers to sell their fruits and vegetables should be finished for this market season.
It will include areas for the sellers to display their products.
A $38,800 grant to build the pavilion is through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Rural Farmer Market Capital Development Grant Program. It was awarded last year.
Dina Jackson, grant and marketing coordinator, said they’d soon have some engineering designs to present to council.
“That should progress pretty quickly,” Jackson said.
Work continues to bring the Temperance Building back to its pristine history.
“That is going to help finish up the shoring up of the foundation as well as get the draining and trenching (to get water away from the foundation,” said Jackson.
The work will include excavation around the building, waterproofing the basement walls, installation of underground downspout drainage system, the restoration of the front steps and structural repairs in the basement area.
