A new agreement between Roane County’s five volunteer fire departments could cut down the time it takes to dispatch additional help to a fire scene.
The chiefs reportedly signed an agreement on Tuesday that makes the Midtown Volunteer Fire Department the automatic mutual aid for the other departments.
“Midtown Fire Department will automatically be called out on any fire from the other four districts,” Midtown Chief Randy Scarborough said.
