Fischer's state title bid comes up short

Murielle Fischer’s quest to win Roane County's first-ever TSSAA Class A/AA tennis state championship came up a little short last week as Boyd Buchanan’s Tara Garner defeated the Lady Jacket junior in the semifinal round, 6-1, 6-2.

Fischer advanced to the semis earlier in the day by defeating Columbia Academy's Steffen Pelletier, 6-2, 6-3.
