A single-wide trailer was consumed by flames late Friday, Sept. 14.
“It was pretty much a total loss,” said Harriman Fire Chief Brad Goss of the fire at 121 Isham Lane, which is off Swan Pond Road.
The home belonged to former Harriman firefighter Chris Peddicord.
Goss said nobody was home at the time of the fire, and the fire went unnoticed because the home sat down a long driveway out of view.
“When we got there it was actually almost 100-percent involved,” Goss said.
Harriman Fire Department requested mutual aid from Midtown Fire Department.
On Sunday, another fire destroyed a garage on Vernal Drive.
Goss said someone burned the dilapidated garage on purpose.
The fire at 706 Silura St. is still undetermined.
Goss said they were unable to locate and determine what started the fire. The structure was unstable following the fire, making it dangerous for officials to explore.
