After nearly four years in its original location on Robertsville Road, the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge is moving.
The clinic will be closed Oct. 11 and Oct. 14 for the move.
When it reopens on Oct. 15, it will be at its new location at 116 East Division Road, Oak Ridge.
The new site is across Oak Ridge Turnpike from Methodist Medical Center.
The phone number, 865-483-3904, and fax number, 865-481-0203, will remain the same.
The new facility has larger space with more examination rooms, reception and waiting areas.
Administrative office space will help the clinic better meet the needs of the ever-increasing numbers of individuals seeking care.
Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge serves residents of Roane, Anderson, Morgan and Roane counties who do not have insurance and can’t afford to pay for care.
Since opening in January 2010, 3,000 patients have been seen in more than 12,600 visits.
Services include primary health care, community health education and referrals to specialty physicians.
Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge depends on contributions from members of the community, businesses, churches and service organizations.
More than 60 volunteers, including physicians, nurses and support staff, contribute 165 hours of combined services each week.
